This driver set provides your infrared-equipped laptop or desktop computer with the capability of networking, transferring files, and printing wirelessly with other IrDA-compatible infrared devices.
In Windows 10 version 1511, IrDA devices do not communicate. This issue occurs even though IrDA network devices are displayed in Device Manager and the IrDA driver appears to be installed. There is no indication that the device is not working other than the lack of IrDA communication.
FIR hardware should have a unique device ID and an associated vendor-supplied driver. FIR hardware that is also compatible with SIR can also expose an alias device ID of PNP0510 or PNP0511 to allow SIR-only operation using IrSIR. 1. Please ensure all previous versions of the Windows driver have been uninstalled.

2. Please ensure that at least version 1511 (plus April 2016 updates) of Window 10 is installed on your PC.

3. Connect your IRDA device to your PC, the driver is automatically retrieved & installed by Windows 10 when the device is used for the first time.

4. In order to enable IrDA communication on a Windows 10 PC, follow the procedure outlined here - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3150989 - this enabling procedure must be carried out in admin profile.
